I am Jessie Wittich, the 6th grade teacher. I grew up in Baker City Oregon with my parents and siblings. I was home schooled, but played soccer and basketball through Baker High School. After high school I attended Oregon State University, where I obtained my Bachelors in General Sciences. While at OSU I spent three years as a part of the rowing team. Rowing was one of the most rewarding, and challenging experiences of my life. Once I graduated OSU I moved back to Baker while getting my Masters in teaching at Eastern Oregon University. I spent my first year teaching Kindergarten in Sunnyside Wa. That was the year I realized that I was not cut out to teach Kindergarten, and was thrilled to be offered the position to teach 6th grade at LVCS.
I love spending my free time outdoors with my family, friends, or dog. I love being physically active and run regularly with my dog. I also enjoy cycling and going on hikes. I am passionate about reading and try to pass that on to my students. I love discussing good books with them, and suggesting what to read next. I have an older brother, two older sisters, two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, three nephews, and a niece. My parents and the rest of my family play a huge role in my life and are some of my favorite people to spend time with.
As a teacher, I love to continue my learning and hope to instill that love in the students I teach.
