Dear Luckiamute Valley Families

We are very sorry to let you know that a member of our Luckiamute Valley Charter School family died Sunday night. Tara Kadell was a parent of 2 Luckiamute students. She was killed in a car accident which is being investigated. At this time there will be a cremation and a “celebration of life” ceremony in the future When we have information we will pass it on to our school community.

Monday at school we had trained support personnel from the Willamette ESD’s Flight Team. The Flight Team was available to work with students and staff in processing their feelings around this loss.

The Flight Team and their Support Room are a one-day resource. You may find that you or your child(ren) continue to experience significant feelings as you process this loss. Please let your child’s teacher know if you are concerned about ongoing issues. We’ve included, at the bottom, a list of local resources if you need additional assistance.

This is a difficult time for our students, staff, parents and community. We offer our deepest sympathy to the Kadell family and friends.
